Cargo Air first B737-300 , MSN 23237 with present registration N503UW has performed its maiden test flight as cargo converted freighter on 08 MAY 2008 in Miami , Florida.

 

The aircraft has flew after obtaining a number of FAA permits and approvals for experimental flight after completion of cargo conversion, heavy C6 check as per Boeing MPD, full SI and CPCP cards completed and a number of EURO OPS 1/ EASA modifications.

Cargo Air has completed its first commercial flight after the Air Operator Certificate and License for Air Carrier has been granted by BG CAA on 15 September 2008. The flight was comprising of one 12 meters long pipe for the oil industry which weighted 1100 kg and was on route HAJ to CND. The first Customer of Cargo Air was the European Charter Broker – Kales Charters Bv.

 
 

 
The decision for purchase of the next B737-300, with serial number 23970 has been taken in NOV 2009 and the deal was concluded on 16 DEC 2009. Special Team of Cargo Air has inspected the aircraft in Marana Airzona in OCT 2009 and concluded that the aircraft technical conditions and characteristics perfectly suits Cargo Air needs.

Cargo Air has signed agreement for cargo conversion of the newly purchased aircraft B737-300, serial number 23970 with  Aeronautical Engineers, Inc on 15 DEC 2009. The aircraft arrived from Marana, AZ to Miami , FL on 19 DEC 2009.

 

Cargo Air has certified Liege airport as its first abroad line maintenance base as per part 145 requirements after inspection by Bulgarian and Belgium Civil Aviation Authorities in JAN 2010. This will allow Cargo Air line maintenance organization to perform line checks at Liege airport up to A8 as per Boeing MPD.
